8 Roseland Cottage hosts the Woodstock Area Garden Club’s annual plant sale. 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. A variety of annuals and perennials are on sale and special gift packages are available through a silent auction. All proceeds benefit scholarships for local students. As part of the plant sale, the Roseland Cottage gift shop has “Bowen’s Boxwoods” for sale. The small ornamental shrubs were cultivated at Historic New England’s Lyman Greenhouse in Waltham, Massachusetts from clippings of Roseland Cottage’s original 1850s dwarf boxwoods. The shrubs represent a unique opportunity to incorporate a piece of Connecticut’s history into your own garden.
